côte&ciel | FW24 COLLECTION

For côte&ciel’s Fall/Winter '24 collection, the Parisian brand draws inspiration from the study of natural structures and landscapes, as exemplified by Michael Kenna's 'Forms of Japan' and composer Yom's 'Alone in the Night.' These influences correspond deeply with their design language. Physical products mirror these naturally occurring visuals and perceptions of the world around us. Through textiles and construction they sculpt tactile bodies of work for us to hold, feel, and wear.

côte&ciel have taken existing styles and given them new material iterations and updated patterns. Additionally, they have introduced new styles that expand on the core design philosophy. The ‘Braided Black’, ‘Pleated Black’, ‘‘Jacquard Grey’, and ‘Komatsu Beige’ fabrications are new for Fall/Winter ‘24 and provide added dimension through texture and form, all with notes of a higher aesthetical dialogue.

Built with ergonomic principles and organic patterns in mind, Fall/Winter ‘24 introduces several new styles including the HYCO S, a crossbody bag with a signature twist, DALA, a soft backpack with architectural volume, the AMU, a carry bag with a striking and unique construction, and its delightable scaled down version, the cute AMU Mini. Existing styles like the ORNE, ISAR and LADON champion côte&ciel’s roots, whilst also undergoing evolution through exterior and interior additions.

Especially within the 'Pleated Black' family, the ORNE and HYCO S bags play a central role. Taking up the challenge of using a pleated fabric with their signature swirl, which can be found in a number of our organic shapes, côte&ciel has worked closely with their production to find solutions to maintain the structural integrity of these pieces and to find ways to make them producible in small batches.
In addition, the ‘Braided Black’, characterised by their exterior braided detailing, and ‘Jacquard Grey’, an engineered fabric with a technical aesthetic, categories round off the offering, amplifying their product's unique form and structure through material, as seen on silhouettes like the ISAR AND NEDA.
